Individual coaching and consulting is an important part of how we impact people, teams and organizations. It's an opportunity for our clients to discuss issues in confidence, share ideas or receive coaching. Many of our clients want individual coaching to prepare for a major presentation or help in delivering a more constructive performance review to their top-performers.
Some one-on-ones are formal meetings at our clients offices. Sometimes our clients just need to sit down over a cup of coffee and outline strategy for an important meeting. For example, one of our clients is Scott Inman, Director of Corporate Relations for The Home for Little Wanderers. Here's what we accomplished during a meeting at Starbucks, as described by Scott in a 2009 Boston Globe article about Engage:
"Through Natixis, 12 development staff and managers at The Home for Little Wanderers have received Campbell’s coaching in the past two years. Through coaching, Scott Inman, Senior Corporate Relations Manager at The Home, has learned to build deeper, long-term relations with donors, rather than simply asking for money. Recently, Inman was preparing to meet with an executive for the first time to discuss a donation. Over coffee, Campbell coached Inman to learn how the executive might want to make a mark in the worlds, and ask how the executive might want to make a mark in the world, and ask how he could introduce The Home to others in the field. In that short meeting, ‘we walked away with more than we’d ever expected,” said Inman. The executive is not only planning to donate but is offering key connections with other high-level business leaders.”
This is just one example of how we help our clients (individuals and organizations) become more successful by helping them bring a higher level of thinking to their conversations with their clients and their employees.
